The purpose of writing Champion was to "Hook Kids on Reading."

Here is a taste of the easy-to-read 25,000 word, twelve chapter book that was specifically designed to help hook kids on reading. Kids of all ages seem to laugh right off the bat while reading the Chapter One heading. Try it with kids in your family, or any kids you know. Almost without exception, all children giggle with pleasure and anticipation while reading the words quoted below:

In early August a woman saw me wearing the Tee-Shirt advertising my book Champion in our local Carl's Jr Restaurant. She asked where she could get a copy. I told here in Fairbanks at Barnes & Noble, and every other bookstore in town, On-Line at Amazon.com or BuyBooksOnTheWeb.com, or she could get a signed copy from me. She asked me to get her a copy. I went out to my truck and brought her back a brand new book.
After she looked the book Champion over and read a sample, she decided to buy five more copies to give to friends as gifts...

Hmmm... I'm thinking I'll have to wear my Champion shirt and go to Carl's more often...
